40m is a fair length for a lifting
table or a group of interconnected lifting tables. Two lifting
tables with a length of 39m and 29m were installed in a repair workshop for the German
railways by GRUSE, Aerzen www.gruse.de. These tables are installed between a platform and
the train and are normally positioned at platform height were they can be driven over by a
forklift truck of up to 2.5t.
The table can be lowered when carrying out maintenance work on the
train. A flight of steps extends at one end when lowered which allows maintenance
personnel access to the train in this lowered position.
The individual scissor lifts are bolted together by their platforms and
are interconnected by transfer frames which allows for smooth operation even when unevenly
loaded. Each scissor lift has its own cylinder which are fed from a single hydraulic
pump. The photo shows the table being tested in the assembly shop at GRUSE in Aerzen.
